The most essential issues that our county commissioners can address are: public safety, water quality, road maintenance, health and human services and protecting our forests and waterways.

We have had excellent ecologically-informed forestry practices and good partnerships with area clubs to maintain ski trails, hunting, and multi-use trails. These have improved and showcased our rising status as a year-round recreation destination. I am impressed by Dick Moore and his collaboration with local clubs for recreation area improvements and amenities.

Big decisions are ahead of us all with plans for a New County Jail being made. I support our officers' professional development and mental health as we press for accountability and transparency in all LE interactions. Our new Sheriff must be a visible symbol of our hopes for this high standard. I met with and like all three candidates for sheriff. Their commitment to wrap-around services and race reconciliation is commendable. I will maintain a good relationship with our county Sheriff.

The residents and voters of Beltrami County's District 1 have a voice with Mark Morrissey as Commissioner.
